We wanted to be sure you are aware of a recent recall of Gibson Farms bulk organic light halves and pieces of shelled walnuts issued by the FDA on April 30, 2024.
FDA and CDC have announced an outbreak investigation of E. coli O157:H7 in bulk organic walnuts. At this time there are 12 illnesses and 7 hospitalizations. All confirmed cases are in CA and WA but distribution went to 19 states. Gibson Farms, Inc. has issued a recall of organic walnut halves and pieces with lot codes 3325-043 and 3341-501.
Our product inventory when the recall came out were lot codes in the 4000 series. However, if you have walnuts purchased before April 26th, out of caution, please bring them to the store for a refund. We have had no reports of illness as of this posting.
