Applications to run in the 2024 Co-opportunity Board Election are officially open!
All owners in good standing (owners since December 1, 2023, with no outstanding share payments due) are encouraged to consider applying for and serving on our Co-op’s Board.
Three seats are available this election cycle and the Co-op’s general ownership will vote on the candidates starting in October.

Board Member Responsibility
The Board’s primary responsibilities are to ensure the financial security of the organization, to hire, monitor, and evaluate the CEO/General Manager, and to assist in setting the long-term strategic vision for Co-opportunity. The Board does not participate in the day-to-day management and operational details of the store (product selection, pricing, hiring, and store policies).

Board Directors must prepare for and attend monthly Board meetings, the Annual Ownership Meeting, the Board annual retreat(s), and other training and development sessions throughout the year. Additionally, Directors participate in Board committees and community events each year. A typical Board time commitment is 10-12 hours per month. Currently, meetings are held online or in-person on the third Wednesday of each month.

October 1, 2024 – Record date for election
October 20, 2024 – First day of election
November 3, 2024 – Ballots submission deadline
November 5, 2024 – Ballot counting date
January 1, 2025 – New term begins
