I reside in Santa Monica and have been a loyal customer and member of the Co-opportunity Market for 23 years. I am deeply passionate about wellness, sustainability, and the circular economy model. Throughout my life, I have derived immense satisfaction from solving complex problems, whether they involve technology, partnerships, or supply chains. Currently, I work for a media company in the technology department, where my primary goal has always been to devise solutions that enhance customer satisfaction.

The Co-opportunity Market holds a special place in my heart as it reminds me of my upbringing. I was fortunate to grow up in a sustainable culture where practices such as gardening, preserving, and canning natural food were deeply ingrained. I was taught the importance of recycling, repurposing, and refilling, instilling in me a profound commitment to waste reduction.

If elected to the board of directors, I am eager to collaborate with the board members to develop partnerships that practice a closed-loop model and align with our sustainability goals. While our co-op already offers the largest bulk grocery selection in our community, I believe we can expand the range of refillable choices in the personal care and home cleaning departments. By doing so, we can prioritize local suppliers to reduce the carbon footprint associated with transportation, introduce innovative ways to promote sustainability and further reduce plastic packaging, thereby minimizing our environmental impact.

It is an undeniable fact that every piece of plastic ever created still exists on Earth. That’s why it’s so important for us to step up and make changes that we can control.

I am genuinely excited about the chance to make a positive impact in our community. My decision to run for the board is a heartfelt commitment to guide Co-opportunity Market toward a more environmentally friendly future. Let’s work together!
