I’m Esprit Smith, a Marketing and Commercial Growth Executive with extensive experience helping purpose-driven organizations fulfill their mission. Over the years, I’ve shaped brand strategies for early-stage companies and established brands in the Beauty, Health, Wellness, and Retail sectors. My passion lies in improving health outcomes, especially in underserved communities.

Health equity and social justice are core to my values. Growing up in a neighborhood with limited access to fresh foods, my family would visit a local Co-op across town for our weekly shopping, where I learned the importance of “eating the rainbow.” This experience sparked my dedication to advocating for equitable access to better-for-you foods.

This commitment has led me to serve on boards and volunteer for initiatives focused on nutrition education, food access, and policy advocacy—values that align closely with Co-opportunity Market’s mission of providing sustainable, healthy food and fostering a cooperative economy.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Howard University in Washington, DC. My academic background and over 15 years of professional experience have given me the tools to drive growth for mission-driven brands.

Outside of work, I love to travel and explore new foods, which has deepened my appreciation for diverse cultures. I also stay active with hiking, tennis, and Pilates in the park. I’m excited to bring my strategic planning, marketing, community engagement, and financial stewardship expertise to support Co-opportunity Market’s long-term vision and uphold its core values of hospitality, kindness, and generosity.
