A native of Detroit, Michigan, longtime Santa Monica resident Lynn Dickinson has served on the board of Co-opportunity since 2002, when she was recruited to fill a mid-term board vacancy. “Come join us!” they said. “It’ll be fun!” they said. And it was! Sort of. So, she stuck around.
Lynn brings a varied professional background to the board that includes: high-profile film and music publicity; editorial direction at a well-known, entertainment web start-up; executive-level, internet content strategy consulting for dozens of Fortune 100 companies, and some highly-mediocre improv comedy work.
Lynn has published both fiction and non-fiction books, and optioned multiple comedy screenplays. She currently contributes a column to WritersDigest.com, and teaches Media Studies at Santa Monica College, along with courses in Mass Communications and Public Speaking at Glendale Community College.
Lynn and her Midwestern-born husband live in Santa Monica, where between them, they produced an actual Santa Monica native, who is currently away at college, but who intends to come back! The dog and cats may or may not be Santa Monica natives. They’re not telling. Lynn’s intention for this year is to learn how to surf, so get in touch if you know any good surfing instructors!
