Rebecca is a long time Member & shopper—a familiar face around the Co-op. I spoke to her recently in the store and was truly inspired by her good news and her story of how hard work is finally paying off for her. She told me how she was motivated by her love for cooking and how she pushed herself to make great ideas, realities. I thought it was a great story worth sharing with other Co-op Members…so here ya go!

Gentle Wellness Center: Owners Elizabeth Childre & France Robert

Elizabeth Childre and France Roberts are Co-op members and also the two owners of the Gentle Wellness Center here in Santa Monica at: 910 Broadway Suite 112. They’re just blocks from the Co-op. We have partnered up with them and will be using their meeting room to conduct our Food for Thought lectures. They also offer different classes that are open to the community along with other outside speakers with topics that vary. Our MARCH 14th BIG 10 Wednesday brought in even more members than the previous month! Although we know it can get a little chaotic during these days, a large amount of members appreciate this great member benefit. We do hear our members that find them a little overwhelming. To alleviate some of the traffic we have extended the hours of operation from 10pm to 11pm. We've increased the number of attendants in the parking lot and are more than happy to walk with customers to their cars if they've chosen to park on the street. We are willing to go above and beyond for our members. As owners of the Co-op it's important to understand that the Big 10 days are helping to keep the co-op thriving for everyone, not just the people who take advantage of them.
